CAREER BROCHURE DUE

HEALTH 9 STUDENTS HAVE BEEN CURRENTLY WORKING ON A CAREER RESEARCH PROJECT EXPLORING THE ROLES, REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PASSION CAREER PROJECT.  

STUDENTS WERE ASKED TO CREATE A PERSONALIZED CAREER BROCHURE THAT SHARES INFORMATION USING AND DESCRIBING THE FOLLOWING HEADINGS:

1) PROVIDE A DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
2) WHAT EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
3) WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION (SALARY) AND PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES?
4) WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES OF THIS CAREER?
5) WHAT ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMPLOYMENT?

OUR FIRST ART PROJECT!

! GRADE 9 HEALTH STUDENTS HAVE STARTED AN ART PROJECT! 

STUDENTS HAVE BEEN ASKED TO USE ALL MATERIAL STUDIED IN HEALTH SO FAR THIS YEAR AS INSPIRATION TO SHAPE, GUIDE AND CREATE THEIR WORK OF ART

 STUDENTS CAN REPRESENT THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF CURRENT HEALTH SUBJECT MATTER IN ANY ART DISCIPLINE OF CHOICE THAT REPRESENTS THE FOLLOWING TOPICS ACCORDINGLY:  

THE IMPACT OF STRESS ON THE BODY/BRAIN, ANXIETY, REGULATION PRACTICES, COMMON STRESSORS, COPING STRATEGIES, THE IMPACT OF STRESS ON SOCIETY.

THIS ART PROJECT IS TO BE SHARED WITH MR. K ON THE FOLLOWING DATES -

LESSON #3

GRADE 9 HEALTH STUDENTS EXAMINED THE ROLE THAT CREATING AND MAINTAINING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS PLAY IN OUR LIVES.  STUDENTS EXPLORED THE NATURE OF HOW TO IDENTIFY HEALTHY, UNHEALTHY AND ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND ACCESS RESOURCES TO SUPPORT OTHERS AND THEMSELVES.

STUDENTS WERE INVOLVED IN DISCUSSIONS AROUND THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS.  THESE WERE INTRODUCED TO DEEPEN THE CONCEPT AND IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING A PERSONAL SUPPORT SYSTEM:

Why is it important to have a support system in place?

Discuss the role positive communication plays in this system.

What are some challenges to establishing positive relationships with the people in the support triangle?

What can you do immediately to establish better relationships with the people (friends, adults and mentors) in your support network?

STUDENTS WERE ASKED TO RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING PROMPT IN THEIR JOURNALS:

Why is it important for artists to understand the role of human relationships?

STUDENTS WERE ENCOURAGED TO LEAD A DISCUSSION OF THIS LESSON WITH THEIR PARENTS, MENTORS, AND FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM.
